Power Distribution

Power distribution devices receive power from the robot battery and distribute it to motors, controllers, and other devices throughout the robot. Each output is individually fused, providing overcurrent protection for downstream devices.

REV Power Distribution Hub (PDH)

Product page: REV Robotics — Power Distribution Hub (REV-11-1850)

The REV Power Distribution Hub (PDH) is a primary battery power distribution hub for FRC robots. It receives battery power and distributes it across 20 high-current channels, each protected by an auto-resetting breaker, and four low-current channels designed for smaller devices, each protected by a fuse. One of the low-current channels is switchable. The PDH communicates over CAN FD, enabling user code to monitor per-channel current draw, total current, input voltage, and board temperature. An onboard display provides a live readout of the battery input voltage. A dedicated switch enables an internal 120-Ω resistor to terminate the CAN bus.

REV Mini Power Module

Product page: REV Robotics — Mini Power Module (REV-11-1856)

The Mini Power Module is a compact secondary distribution board that taps a PDH output channel and distributes that power to several smaller devices. It is designed to reduce the number of high-current PDH channels consumed by low-power subsystems such as sensors, coprocessors, and logic boards.

CTRE Power Distribution Panel (PDP)

Product page: CTR Electronics — Power Distribution Panel

The CTRE PDP is a legacy FRC primary power distribution device. It distributes battery power through 16 fused channels and communicates over standard CAN bus, allowing user code to monitor per-channel current, total current, voltage, and temperature. The PDP is still legal for FRC competition but is considered legacy hardware; new builds should prefer a new primary power distribution device.

Kraken X44 Flipped PowerPole Adapter Board

The Kraken X44 Flipped PowerPole Adapter Board is an adapter developed by WCP and Vivid Hosting for the Kraken X44 motor. It connects directly to the power and CAN connections of the Kraken X44, converting the cable lug connections for power and CAN to PowerPole and Molex SL connectors respectively. An additional port allows a CANcoder to tap power and CAN directly from the board.

ReFire Solutions Inline Power Tap

The ReFire Solutions Inline Power Tap provides a fused secondary power takeoff from a device wired to the primary power distribution hub. It installs inline without interrupting the main power path, providing an independently fused output for auxiliary devices such as coprocessors, cameras, or custom electronics. This makes it particularly useful when all PDH channels are occupied.
